Saturday 26 October from 6pm to 10pm
Our first go at hosting a Country Dance at the Barn was so much fun, we thought we just had to give it another go before our 150th year of farming celebrations come to a close. So here we go with Take 2!
This one is a little different as we open up to families who’d like to join us for a bit of old-fashioned fun on the farm. If you’d like to bring your family along, please make contact with us directly to discuss further and purchase your tickets.
With a mix of old-time, country, and line dancing, all danced to the beat of modern country and 80s classics, you won’t be able to resist getting up on the floor. We’ll have the dance floor installed again at The Barn just to make sure there’s no excuse for not getting your groove on!
Numbers will be limited to ensure everyone can fit on the dance floor! We’ve asked a local community group to provide food to purchase for dinner and our mate Johnno from Group Set Coffee is also joining us to keep you hydrated. No BYO food, thank you – please support our local community fundraiser.
Though we’re opening this one up for families to attend, please note that there will be no access to any other areas of the farm to visit the animals or explore. The dance is held at The Barn and within a restricted area of our picnic paddock which can be sufficiently well-lit for safety. We’ll have some lawn games available and plenty of picnic rugs to spread out on to enjoy the night sky, but no specific entertainment for kids other than enjoying the music and dancing.
We’re so looking forward to another fabulous Country Dance at The Barn.
BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL – ticketed event. Waiver required for all persons attending the event. Conditions of Entry deemed to be accepted by purchase of ticket.
Kay & Dave met at a country dance 30 years ago and for more than a decade it was their Saturday night ritual to head to one of the local dances, then later with the kids in tow. They were so much fun, and often kept going well after midnight. Over the years, the vibe changed, and our family stopped attending but we’ve missed the fun of the country dances. So, what better way to celebrate 150 years of farming on Central Kerry than to hold our very own country dance on the farm?!
Harry & George brought a modern twist to our country dance with country beats and funky 80s classics to go with our favourite lively old-time dances. And we’ve locked in some groovy line dances too – sure to get those boots scootin’!
