Farm Stay Accommodation

A genuine working farm holiday

Tommerup’s Dairy Farm offers a genuine working farm holiday experience for our guests.

Our 6th generation working dairy farm is the perfect place to connect with real farmers and farm animals, learn about life on a dairy farm, experience delicious produce directly from the farm; a place to jump in boots ‘n’ all to farm life or just relax in the beautiful surroundings of our farm in the picturesque Kerry Valley, Scenic Rim Qld.

Join us, the farmers, as we milk our herd of Jersey girls each morning.  Meet and feed our friendly calves, sheep, pigs and chickens on the daily feeding rounds. You can lend a hand with bottle feeding the calves, smashing pumpkins for our rowdy pigs and spreading grains for the chickens.

Take advantage of long Summer days on the farm with a picnic down by the creek, swim in the Albert River and dinner on the deck under a blanket of stars.  Enjoy the company of friends under the sprawling shadow of the ancient Moreton Bay figs. Gorgeous winter blue skies are the perfect backdrop for exploring the farm and beyond and for those chilly winter nights, gather round the outdoor chiminea with a bottle of wine and marshmallows to toast.

Offering personal attention to our guests is important to us. With only one guest houses on the property, you’ll feel part of our farm family as you join us for our daily milking and feeding chores yet delight in the space and privacy to enjoy the company of your family and friends during your farm holiday. If it’s an authentic paddock to plate experience that you’re looking for, our farm is the perfect place for you. Visit the farm larder to purchase delicious produce fresh from our farm.

We offer farm stay accommodation on weekends and school holidays only.

For the rest of the week, our land and our animals the priority. Our farm stay accommodation often books out several months in advance, so we suggest booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment. All current vacancies showing on the booking calendar.

We look forward to welcoming you to our family farm.

Farm stay bookings on our farm are closed for 2024. Any availability will be advertised through our farm newsletter. Join our Friends of the Farm  mailing list to get first dibs on farm stay availability and tickets to farm events.

The Homestead

This sprawling house has been home to 5 generations of Dave’s family since being built in 1888.  The Homestead is perfectly located for spectacular views across the farm with a covered verandah on 3 sides perfect for relaxing.  Just a short walk to the dairy and to feed the chickens with ancient fig trees providing a beautiful spot for a shady family BBQ or picnic.

The Homestead is fully self-contained, includes all linen and modern conveniences such as a reverse cycle air-conditioning and a dishwasher.  The main bedroom is stunning, complete with original four poster bed.  The 2nd bedroom also features one of the family’s original four poster beds and the bunk room is perfect for larger groups. With 2 bathrooms, TV room and separate sitting room, there’s plenty of space to relax, unwind and enjoy some time out.  A portacot is available for use if required (own linen required for porta-cot).

Whilst being true to its historical roots, the home has been redecorated in rustic country style.  Comfortably accommodating 12 people (can extend to 13 if needed).

Steeped in history, The Homestead was the first sawn timber home in the Kerry district.  Home to Dave’s Great Great Grandparents and every generation of his family since, this beautiful country homestead has stood the test of time and now provides our guests with a glimpse into the history of 5 generations of our family on this property.
