Mother’s Day Market Day & Picnic – Sunday 10 May 2026

Family is at the heart of everything we do.

Mother’s Day Picnic on our farm is a celebration of life’s simple pleasures, shared with family, on our family farm. This event is a favourite with our family – we love to see other families enjoying each other’s company and soaking up the atmosphere on our family farm.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT.  ENTRY TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED TO ACCESS THE FARM, EVENT ACTIVITIES AND HIGH TEA CATERING. WALK-INS WON’T BE ADMITTED ENTRY FOR THIS EVENT.

 We’ve added a few little extra offerings for this year’s picnic day which we hope will make the day extra special for our visitors. The addition of a planting area for kids to pot up a sunflower for mum and new gifts available from the farm just part of the special treats.

As with all our Market Days, we’ll have the farm larder open for you to fill your empty picnic baskets on your way out, plus just a few extra special stalls with local products for Mother’s Day. We’ll share more information on those before the event so you can plan your purchases in advance if you’re keen to get something really unique for mum.

 Shionagh from Scenic Rim Pottery is offering a new workshop this year and it’s one for the whole family! Create your very own rustic Bee Hotel using locally sourced clay, decorated with fun texture and materials you can gather from the farm.  $65 (per group – 1 bee hotel). Price includes all materials, firing and $20 for shipping the finished product. 1.5 hour workshop.

Our family portrait sittings are back this year as well but with a little twist to keep it interesting. We’re changing up the shoot location and backdrop so you can update your family photos on the farm. Dallas from DMD Marketing is our on-farm photographer for the family portraits this year.

We thought we’d add some special gift ideas from the farm this year as well. Many of you are regular visitors to our farm and have become treasured Friends of the Farm.  We’re offering an opportunity to purchase a heritage fruit tree to plant in Harry’s Paddock orchard this year, complete with special plaque and a beautiful farm-themed card to gift mum. The whole family can get stuck in and plant your special tree (or stand back and let Harry & Dave take the lead) then check on its progress each time you visit our farm. You’ll also find a limited edition seed mix created from saved seed in Harry’s Paddock, and beautiful greeting cards with a special Tommerup farm theme. (Trees must be pre-ordered via the ticket link).

While away the day on the farm – picnic under the shade of the blue gums, with views to the Lost World and beyond, stroll to the river and take in the peaceful sounds of the Albert, indulge in High Tea, a ploughman’s platter or BYO picnic. 

Speaking of picnics, reserved picnic spots are back this year. If you’re not keen to lug all your picnic gear to the farm, leave it to us. Choose from tables and chairs or picnic blankets and umbrellas to complete your perfect picnic layout. Limited reserved places are available so be quick to secure yours. Of course, you’re very welcome to BYO picnic gear and find a lovely spot to enjoy your day on the farm.

For those up for a farm adventure, grab your bucket of animal feed (complimentary with entry) and head off to meet the farm crew. Our Jersey Girls and calves will be close by to say hello, George and the girls in the sheep paddock are always up for a feed, and those crazy goats provide plenty of entertainment with their shenanigans. There’s chickens and ducks aplenty and of course, our cheeky pigs squealing with delight as visitors approach. Don’t miss the smashing pumpkins pig feeding with the farmers. A hit with the children and adults alike.
